P2P TV is the peer-to-peer software application that’s used to share view streams on a P2P network. One of the most popular applications for the P2P TV is to share network television around the world; this is a very appealing application as it allows every telecast in the world to be broadcast from a single source.
Many P2P TV networks use the BitTorrent P2P protocol for file sharing and distribution. BitTorrent is one of the methods for file sharing which allows large amounts of data to be distributed in a wide disbursement without the original distributor having to bear the burden of cost for hardware, hosting, and bandwidth. While P2P TV may seem an affordable alternative for broadcasters, however the costs are just shifted around from the broadcaster to the distributor and in actuality the costs are raised rather than lowered. This is of little interest to the user as they will ultimately be the one to eventually shoulder the costs. P2P TV channels vary by location and your server; that is if you’re living in a big city or near communications hub and your ISP provider is someone like Time Warner, a different major cable operator, or a different DSL provider who has a far reach (and is not a local subsidiary) then you’re more likely to have greater choices in your P2P TV choices. P2P TV streams are, in general a lot less regular just because of the time zone differences on say, the other side of the world from where you are; however, programming devices like TiVo have made things like this less of an issue. Also all of our random, jumpy schedules makes the desirability of wanting to be up to see prime time programming in Prague at 11AM or East Malaysia at 3AM a lot more desirable. Even the major sports have taken up streaming broadcasts. You can get MLB or NFL packages with your cable provider where you can see all the games you’d like to see, r you could just dial them up and stream them online and leave your cable alone! P2P file sharing TV shows is often how our interest in things like television in Romania begins, but begin it does, and we need to find away to satiate that appetite. If you’ve got a high speed connection and the time to donate, maybe you too can become a television vegetable!
